Happy National Week of Making

Everyone’s Making Something. Everyone, All The Time.

You don’t need a CNC machinist to be a maker.

You might be making a phone call that someone’s been waiting for.

You might be making space for a story that needed to be told.

You might be making a quiet moment that someone remembers for years.

National Week of Making is a reminder that “making” doesn’t just happen in machine shops or art studios. It happens in homes, on farms, in classrooms, and at dinner tables. Making is what connects us. Whether you’re building a prototype or building someone’s confidence, it’s all part of the same story.

Makers are everywhere, and we’re proud to be part of that community.

What We Make
At L-E-M, we machine plastic components that show up in life-saving medical devices, aerospace innovations, and everyday essentials. We make with intention, care, and respect for the hands that will use what we create. It is a kind of making we have honed for decades. We never forget that behind every part is a person.

This Week Is for All of Us
National Week of Making is a time to slow down and appreciate what we all bring into the world. Whether it’s a product, a gesture, or a moment, everyone’s making something.

Supporting the Next Generation of Makers
This year, in honor of National Week of Making and our ongoing commitment to education, L-E-M proudly sponsored New Jersey student robotics team during Manufacturing Day at NJMEP. These students are building more than robots. They’re building futures grounded in curiosity, teamwork, and technical skill. It was an honor to support their creativity and witness the kind of innovation that starts young but goes far.

So this week, we invite you to ask yourself:

What are you going to make?
And who are you going to make smile?

From our shop floor to your community, we’re proud to be part of a world that makes.
